The Lord has impressed a couple scriptures on me recently. I’d like to share one of them with you. Psalm 89:14 “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy/love (unfailing love, steadfast love) and faithfulness go before You…or “before Your face”. I love the picture here. Can you see it? It’s like love, mercy, faithfulness are continually passing before the face of the Father as He looks upon Your circumstance and pronounces righteous judgment in every situation out of a foundation and motivation of love! This was the initial verse that was impressed on me one morning as I was praying. A couple days later I read essentially the same verse in Psalm 97:2, “Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne”. So, I started doing some investigating. Do you know how often “righteousness and justice” are paired together in scripture? Lots! Let me give you a sampler. Psalm 33:5, “He loves righteousness and justice; The earth if full of the goodness of the Lord”. Psalm 103:6, “The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed”. Hosea 2:19, “I will betroth You to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth You to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy”. (How about that one? Is this suggesting that it’s the justice of God that we are betrothed to Him? I think so! This is all made possible because of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus – not our own worthiness – but His!) So, if we truly posture our hearts before God and see ourselves seated with Him in heavenly places, (Ephesians 2:6) then does it not follow that we are to pray from a perspective of heaven to earth and declare along with the Father, “Righteousness and justice” into our circumstances? We can be assured that we are praying according to the heart of the Father and decreeing things from heaven to earth. He has shown us in His word over and over that this is His heart. We can pray with real confidence when recognizing this reality. Let’s go for it!
Allow me to brief you on a number of recent happenings as well as the upcoming schedule of events at the Wilderness. Mark and Deb Hendrickson shared at our January meeting. Mark actually taught on the dual realities of the believer; We are seated with Christ in the heavenlies while also walking on “terra firma” as Mark likes to say. He taught and challenged us to pray decreeing, proclaiming prayers, as opposed to beggarly prayers as we learn to embrace our identities as sons of God (gender neutral) and priests/kings who have been created to co-rule with Jesus. In March we were privileged to have the Jonathan House team from Rochester here. Ryan Hawley shared a powerful, challenging message on cutting off those things that hinder us from entering into the full destiny that God has called us to and created us for. Those who were there will remember the passage from 1 Kings 19 and the story of Elisha being anointed a prophet to succeed Elijah and the choice Elisha had to make in that moment. Bob and Betty Walker were also here and ministered alongside Ryan and others in a time of prayer ministry for those who requested.
On Friday night, April 26 we had David Gravgaard and a group of his prophetic friends from Willmar with us. Some of you might remember that David, (who was with Graham Cooke at his church in Vacaville, CA for 5 years) was here with a group in January of 2012.
