An Exciting Time to be Alive!

I trust you’ve had great summers. It’s truly an exciting time to be alive! God is building His church through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in His sons and daughters (Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 3:18), Who is declaring mysteries long hidden concerning the identity of the believer (Gal. 4:5-7) and the appointed destiny for the church (you and I) who have been (and are being) delivered from condemnation and shame for the purpose of releasing the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven even as Jesus is manifested in and through His saints and even as all creation groans for the revealing of the sons of God. (Romans 8:22) Once you said “Yes” to Jesus and trusted in His completed work on the cross on your behalf to fully atone for your sins you became a citizen of the Kingdom of God and as such are now “strangers and aliens” in this world. Saints of God, you are a unique creature! You are a new creation in Christ, one never before witnessed on the earth. You are not like the Old Testament saints who believed in a coming Redeemer but did not have the present reality of Christ within. You have Christ in you , the hope of glory. (Col.1:27) We can often times allow amazing truths to get by us without letting it permeate our very souls. Let’s agree to ponder these things in coming days. The Holy Spirit will release revelation as we set our hearts in the pursuit of Truth.

To recap the last couple months at the Wilderness Prayer Center:

In June we hosted Mikhael Murnane and his daughter, Orijah for a weekend of meetings. Mikhael pastors in Jerusalem, Israel in a Messianic Jewish congregation and is also involved in a number of other ministry functions there. Orijah came along and shared of the things happening in Israel among the youth. Mikhael spoke each night Friday through Sunday as well as Saturday afternoon. He taught on the Jewish feasts, the covenants and both he and Orijah shared stories of God’s divine protection of friends and family as they live with daily threats from hostile nations all around – and within Israel itself. (If we have him back another time I’m going to ask him to share more of those stories..:)

In July we had Noel Johnson with us. Noel shared some of his testimony and how God has led him out of darkness and bondage to a place of freedom in Jesus. He has been with Youth With A Mission in Hawaii for a couple years, seeing God do amazing things such as salvations as well as healings, supernatural provision, divine encounters, etc.

On August 31 Tom Stamman will be with us. Tom has been here a couple times before and has a strong prophetic anointing as well as leading a large oversees ministry feeding and caring for orphans in over 50 countries. Meeting time will be at 7:00 p.m.

Each Tuesday we continue to meet for worship, prayer, fellowship. We’d love to have you join us. It’s been interesting to me to see how God has called people to come out. Most who have been coming would say that they felt the Holy Spirit directed them to come. There is the recognition of the value in corporate prayer and the value in agreeing with others in prayer.

Also, every other Tuesday we have prayer cycles – 1 hour blocks of time where individuals and/or couples or potentially groups – come to pray for one hour over our region, nation and world.  If you would like to participate in this opportunity you may call Bob Scrabeck at 507-383-0756 and he will work with you to schedule a time.

A relatively new meeting that has been held on two separate occasions now is for primarily youth. Taylor Olson has been leading a group of teens in nights of worship, prayer, devotional time. The next scheduled night for the youth is Saturday night, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. I’d really encourage any youth or youth minded folks to be aware of this and come on out. Talk it up with your youth groups and spread the word around. Taylor told me that one of his friends has set up a facebook page for the Wilderness Prayer Center. (I’m not yet on facebook…J) For those of you who are, go ahead and check it out. Give Taylor a call at 507-525-3857 for more information on the youth nights.

We have underground wiring now installed to hook up lights for the Wilderness Prayer Center sign on the front lawn. We’d like to thank Steve Jacobson and Rick Wright of Blue Earth Electric Service for their work on that. We expect to have the lights installed any day now. This will give good awareness of the Prayer Center at night for folks driving by or perhaps looking to find it on meeting nights. We’ve had people drive right by without noticing it was there….:)

Also, we’d like to thank Mark Dundas for installing a new (used) sound system. Mark donated his time and much equipment including 5 mics and boom stands, mixer, speakers and monitors with all cables. This is a huge blessing to us. Thank You Mark!

Thank you to all who have given so generously in a financial way. We really value your partnership. We have a few upcoming projects that we are hoping to complete before long. There are 4-5 windows in the upper level that need to be replaced and we’d like to get the west outside wall painted yet this year.

I want to share one final story. Earlier this month I was at a meeting where Ravi Kandal, who was featured in the new documentary by Darren Wilson called “Father of Lights” was speaking. Ravi shared that the Lord had spoken to him regarding the future of the United States and the fact that our destiny does not lie in the hands of Democrat or Republican. It doesn’t rest on who is in the White House. The future of America lies in the hands of the intercessors! Beloved, let us be those who pray! Let’s be of those who cry out day and night declaring the advancing Kingdom of God in the earth. We must not be of those who see the darkness and cower in fear, trembling as we see the increase in darkness with our natural eye. We must have our eyes trained to see and fix our gaze on the promises of God who dispels darkness with His very presence – even His presence in us! “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them (any antichrist spirit), because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
